The Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) is the peak membership organisation for Australian health-care professionals and researchers. As a society, GESA sets, promotes and continuously improves the standards of practice, training and research in gastroenterology and hepatology in Australia. Our ultimate goal is optimal gastrointestinal and liver health for all.
GESA promotes optimal health through prevention, control and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver disease in humans. Our decisions are guided by excellence, equity, leadership and fellowship. GESA’s Research Workshop is the largest meeting of its type in Australia.
Research, of course, underpins what we do and ultimately leads to the development of the best standards of patient care and public health.

The Workshop is to provide younger researchers with an opportunity to present their work and network with peers and senior colleagues.

The GESA Research Workshop provides sponsors the opportunity to reach approximately 150 dedicated Researchers and Scientists ranging from younger researchers to luminaries in the field of basic and applied gastroenterology and hepatology in Australia.
This meeting will be a rare opportunity to raise your profile and engage within the research/scientific community in a setting that reinforces relationships with current clients whilst developing new alliances. It also provides the opportunity to learn first-hand the directions and innovations occurring in the research in this field.
GESA Research Workshop 2023 to be held on Thursday 1 – Friday 2 September at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) immediately preceding the GESA AGW 2023 on Sunday 3 – Tuesday 5 September also to be held at BCEC.
